Choose an under-cabinet range hood by matching the appliance width, cabinet space and ventilation route to your cooking setup. An under-cabinet hood can be ducted or, on models specifically designed for it, recirculating. Check the exact model's installation manual before deciding. Browse our under-cabinet range hoods and compare the examples below.
Three Models for a 30-inch or 36-inch Layout
This comparison uses the manufacturers' published model information. It is a specification comparison, not a hands-on noise, reliability or cooking test. Current price and availability are shown on the product pages.
| Model | Nominal width | Published maximum airflow | Selection detail |
|---|---|---|---|
| ZLINE 623-30 | 30 inches | 600 CFM | Four fan speeds, LED lights and dishwasher-safe baffle filters. |
| ZLINE 623-36 | 36 inches | 600 CFM | The wider 623 model for a different cabinet and cooking layout. |
| FORNO Bari FRHUC5255-30 | 30 inches | 400 CFM | Four-speed push-button control, two LED lights and hybrid filters. |
Published airflow ratings describe the products. Have your installer confirm the hood and duct design for your kitchen. Avoid choosing from a single CFM number without checking the cooking appliance's requirements, mounting position and duct route.
ZLINE 623: Compare the Exact Width
ZLINE lists the 623-30 and 623-36 as ducted under-cabinet hoods. The published dimensions are 30 × 22 × 10 inches and 36 × 22 × 10 inches, respectively (width × depth × height). Both manufacturer pages specify a 7-inch duct size. Review the current installation drawings before cutting cabinetry or adapting existing ductwork.
The Home Comforts Depot product page groups several 623 widths together. The links above select the 30-inch and 36-inch variants. Confirm the selected SKU and width in the cart before ordering.
FORNO Bari: Check the Model Number
The stainless steel Bari model in this guide is FRHUC5255-30. FORNO specifies a 400 CFM, four-speed motor and hybrid filters. Its manual calls for a 6-inch round metal duct venting outdoors. Read the model's manual for the installation method, clearances and electrical connection. Filter type and cleaning instructions should be checked by exact model rather than assumed from a similar-looking hood.
Ducted and Recirculating Are Different Installations
A ducted hood exhausts through a route to the outside. A recirculating hood filters and returns air to the room, using the accessories specified for that model. Under-cabinet mounting by itself does not tell you which method is supported. Confirm the installation option, compatible filters and any required conversion kit before purchasing.
For a broader comparison, read our ducted vs. ductless range hood guide. If the mounting style is still undecided, compare all range hood types.
