ZLINE vs THOR Kitchen: Which Should You Choose?

ZLINE vs. Thor: Which Kitchen Appliance Brand Is Better?
Electrodomésticos de cocina

Updated September 14, 2026. This comparison uses manufacturer information and a purchase-planning checklist. It is not a head-to-head laboratory test. HomeComforts Depot sells both brands.

ZLINE vs THOR: the short answer

Choose the appliance that fits your kitchen and the way you cook, then compare the two brands at that model level. ZLINE and THOR Kitchen both offer ranges and other kitchen appliances. A brand name alone does not tell you which oven is easier to use, which refrigerator fits the opening or which purchase has the lower installed cost.

Use the ZLINE collection and THOR Kitchen collection to create a like-for-like shortlist. Avoid comparing a gas range with a dual-fuel model without accounting for their different installation needs.

Who makes THOR appliances?

THOR Kitchen, Inc. is the company behind THOR-branded kitchen appliances. Its official About Us page describes the brand as designing and building appliances, and its catalog includes cooking, refrigeration, dishwashing and ventilation products. Who makes THOR refrigerators, and where are they made?

THOR refrigerators are marketed under THOR Kitchen. The official company pages reviewed here do not identify one third-party factory or country of assembly for every refrigerator. If that matters to you, request country-of-origin information for the exact model rather than relying on a brand-wide assumption.

Is THOR a good appliance brand?

THOR can be a suitable choice when a specific model gives you the features, fit and service arrangements you need at an acceptable total price. We do not have independent long-term failure-rate data to promise that all THOR products are more reliable than ZLINE. Evaluate the appliance you would actually buy.

Who makes ZLINE appliances, and where are they made?

ZLINE Kitchen and Bath identifies itself as a family-owned U.S. brand. It says manufacturing and assembly vary by model and use a global supply network. U.S.-based design does not mean every product is U.S.-made. Source: ZLINE About Us; source: ZLINE FAQ.

Compare the range you will actually use

Question What to put beside each model number
Does it fit? Actual dimensions, cutout, clearances and the delivery path.
Will the utilities work? Exact fuel configuration and the installation guide's gas and electrical requirements.
Does the oven suit your cooking? Usable rack arrangement, cooking modes, controls and cleaning instructions.
Does the cooktop suit your pans? Burner layout, grate layout and documented settings for the chosen model.
What is the real cost? Appliance price plus delivery, installation, required accessories and removal where needed.

Make those comparisons before deciding that one brand is more powerful or better value. A headline burner rating does not answer every cooking question. Ask to see the manual and control layout; features that sound impressive may not be features you use.

ZLINE vs THOR warranty

At the time of this update, ZLINE lists one year of parts and service for ranges plus limited lifetime gas-burner coverage. THOR's standard-appliance policy lists two years of parts and labor, with exceptions and different conditions for other product categories and uses. These are category-level summaries, not a substitute for the warranty supplied with your purchase. ZLINE warranty; THOR warranty.

THOR states that in-home repair is subject to availability. Ask both brands about support for your model and location before you order. Warranty length alone does not establish which appliance will last longer.

Refrigerators, hoods and complete kitchen packages

Do not carry a range verdict over to the rest of the kitchen. For a refrigerator, map the door swing and the space needed to use drawers. For a hood, have the installer review the ventilation design. For a dishwasher, compare the rack layout and controls you will use every day.

When choosing a package, build an itemized list containing each SKU, finish and required accessory. Ask which components are available now and which have a lead time. One attractive package price is not enough if a single appliance does not suit the room or your schedule.

Which brand should you choose?

  • Shortlist ZLINE if a particular ZLINE model or coordinated finish meets your requirements. Check the current ZLINE range options and ZLINE packages.
  • Shortlist THOR if a specific THOR model has the layout and features you prefer. Compare its current listing and manual with the closest ZLINE alternative.
  • Keep looking if neither shortlisted model meets a must-have requirement, or if the fit or service plan is unresolved.

Send both model numbers and your opening measurements through our free online appliance fit check. We can help organize the comparison before you place an order; your qualified installer should confirm the final installation requirements.
